AAI distributes food grains to local public of Hollongi Airport

Guwahati: The Airports Authority of India (AAI-NER) has been consistently devoting resources towards corporate social responsibility (CSR) endeavours at various stations in the North Eastern Region under the leadership of AAI (NER)'s Regional Executive Director (RED) Sanjeev Jindal. The Airports Authority of India (NER) is distributing rice to daily wagers, workers and the similar group of peoples nearby the vicinity of Hollongi airport project. On April 18, AAI officials have distributed about 7.2-ton rice to community heads of Chakma, Karbi, Niyishi which further were distributed to the people in the presence of MLA Tana Hali Tara, Doimukh and Tasso Gambo, ADC, Balijan, Arunachal Pradesh (AP). The CSR/CER programme of AAI is focused to connect underprivileged families with the privileged one and AAI is continuously working in the effort apart from developing aviation infrastructure in the North Eastern Region. AAI at North Eastern Region (NER) has taken a call to eradicate hunger in and around the area of Hollongi Airport and other stations and airports, especially during the nationwide lockdown due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Supporting the district administration in the fight against COVID-19, the fund provided by AAI under CER scheme will be utilised to procure rice and distribution to public surrounding Hollongi Airport, Arunachal Pradesh. AAI officials P Govindarajulu, Narsad Hussain, Nabam Ajay and MLA Tana Hali Tara, Doimukh and district administrative Tasso Gambo, ADC, Balijan were also present in rice distribution to public nearby Hollongi Airport project. Hollongi is a greenfield airport project undertaken by AAI and it will be first of its kind airport in the state of handling A-320 and similar commercial aircrafts.
