New Delhi: Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), as a part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, has handed over 96 nos of deep freezers worth of Rs 60.15 lakh to government of Telangana on Friday.
BDL's General Manager (GM) Syed Raffe handed over the deep freezers to Health & Family Welfare, government of Telangana's Commissioner Vakati Karuna (IAS) to support COVID -19 vaccination programme. Senior officials from BDL were also present on the occasion.
In the fight against Coronavirus, the Defence PSU had contributed an amount of Rs 9.02 crore to Prime Minister's citizen assistance and relief in emergency situation fund (PM-CARES fund) in April 2020.
Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) is a manufacturer of ammunitions and missile systems. It was founded in 1970 in Hyderabad, Telangana. BDL was established in the year 1970 as a manufacturing base for guided weapon systems. Begun with a pool of engineers drawn from Indian Ordnance Factories, DRDO and aerospace industries, BDL began by producing a first-generation anti-tank guided missile – the "French SS11B1." This product was a culmination of a licence agreement the government entered into with Aerospatiale. BDL has three manufacturing units, located at Kanchanbagh Hyderabad (Telangana), Bhanur, Medak district of Telangana and Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh).
