The institute brings together specialists in surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, nuclear medicine, and plastic and reconstructive surgery, supported by the wider clinical infrastructure of Ramkrishna CARE Hospitals.

The facility is equipped with dedicated day-care chemotherapy beds, a Versa HD Linear Accelerator, AI-enabled PET-CT, dedicated bone marrow transplant suites and a tumour board room. It will provide patients with integrated services covering diagnosis, treatment planning, surgery, systemic therapy, radiation, critical care, supportive care and palliative services.

The launch comes amid a growing cancer burden in Chhattisgarh, with the state estimated to have recorded around 31,553 cancer cases in 2025, compared with 30,763 cases in 2024. The institute is expected to reduce the need for patients from Chhattisgarh and neighbouring regions to travel to metropolitan cities for specialised cancer treatment.

Sai said strengthening healthcare infrastructure, screening, early diagnosis and access to quality treatment within the state remains a priority for the government. He said advanced facilities such as the CARE Cancer Institute would help bring specialised cancer diagnosis and treatment closer to patients.

The institute is backed by Ramkrishna CARE Hospitals’ 36-year healthcare legacy in Chhattisgarh and aims to strengthen Raipur’s position as a centre for advanced cancer care in Central India.

The inauguration was attended by Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Raman Singh, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Aster DM Quality Care CEO (India II) Dr Pawan Kumar, Ramkrishna CARE Hospitals Medical and Managing Director Dr Sandeep Dave, senior doctors and healthcare professionals.
