CSR: ONGC Ahmedabad Asset supports firefighting training for 25 tribal youth

ONGC said it invested Rs 27.5 lakh in the programme as part of its CSR efforts aimed at promoting inclusive development and sustainable community empowerment

New Delhi: State-run energy major Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has supported a six-month residential firefighting training programme for 25 youth from tribal and underprivileged communities under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The programme was conducted by Rashtriya Raksha University at its campus in Lavad, Gujarat, with support from ONGC’s Ahmedabad Asset. The initiative aimed to equip participants with industry-relevant skills in fire safety, emergency response and industrial firefighting.

According to ONGC, the intensive training programme has enabled the participants to become job-ready for roles in the firefighting and industrial safety sectors.

In a significant outcome, all 25 trainees who completed the programme have secured employment, with several candidates receiving multiple job offers. The initiative is expected to provide stable livelihood opportunities and bring renewed confidence to the beneficiaries and their families.
