CSR Watch: Power Grid installs oxygen plant at District Hospital, Jaisalmer

Power Grid has installed an oxygen generation plant at the District Hospital, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, at an estimated cost of Rs 1.11 crore under its CSR initiative

New Delhi: Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot inaugurated an Oxygen Plant at the district hospital, Jaisalmer in Rajasthan which has been built at an estimated cost of Rs 1.11 crore under corporate CSR initiative of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power. The virtual ceremony was presided by the Minister of Medical and Health, Medical Education, Ayurveda and DIPR, the government of Rajasthan Dr Raghu Sharma in presence of state ministers, functionaries and officials from Power Grid. 

The installed oxygen plant has an 850 Litre/Min capacity, which will augment the public health infrastructure of the state. The district hospital had been functioning with about 30 oxygen beds, and with Power Grid's effort of installation of oxygen plant, now all 200 beds are equipped with oxygen support, which shall benefit around 10 lakh people living in and around the Jaisalmer district.
