COVID-19: Power Grid provides 9 oxygen concentrators to district administration of Jammu

Power Grid has supported the district administration of Jammu by providing nine Oxygen Concentrators to help fight against COVID-19

New Delhi: Maharatna power PSU Power Grid has supported the district administration of Jammu by providing nine Oxygen Concentrators to help fight against COVID-19. Power Grid's Executive Director (Northern Region-II) has handed over Oxygen Concentrators to Deputy Commissioner of Jammu Anshul Garg on Saturday. These Oxygen Concentrators have been given under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of Power Grid with the fund amounting to Rs 4.5 lakh. On the behalf of the district administration of Jammu ADC (Jammu), Rakesh Dubey and ADC (Jammu) Satish Sharma and other senior officials of Power Grid were also present on the occasion.

"This initiative will help in augmenting health infrastructure of Jammu and will help increase number of beds with oxygen facility to tackle the emergent situation owing to COVID-19," a Power Grid statement said.

Speaking on the occasion, Rathore reiterated Power Grid's commitment to contributing to the general well-being of society. He also apprised about such assistance given to various district authorities during COVID-19 situations within the region.

Earlier, Power Grid had provided support to the Municipal Corporation of Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, for creating Smart City Infrastructure. The power PSU had sanctioned funds amounting to Rs 1.98 crore for providing four special purpose vehicles (SPVs) in the state of Himachal Pradesh.

As a responsible corporate entity, Power Grid has embarked upon several initiatives during the pandemic for providing necessary help in preventing and treating COVID-19 and sensitising people about COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.
