ITI Limited extends CSR support to fight COVID-19

New Delhi: The nation is under complete lockdown as per Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to contain the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) for 21-days. During such challenging period, the Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) are coming forward to help the nation in its fight against the pandemic.

To support society, ITI Limited, a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Communications, is extending all possible CSR (corporate social responsibility) help in the nation's fight against Coronavirus (COVID-19). Reiterating its commitment to giving back to society, the company has adopted 1,000 poor families of Ambedkar Nagar near ITI Township, Doorvani Nagar.

The company has started the distribution of 1,000 bags containing essential provisions consisting of rice, dal, sugar, salt, atta, and soaps during the lockdown period. The bags were handed over to the residents of Ambedkar Nagar at ITI community hall in the presence of ITI Limited's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Rakesh Mohan Agarwal, Director (HR) Shashi Prakash Gupta, Director (Production) D Venkateswarlu and senior officials of the company. The company is expecting to complete the distribution of 3,000 bags in the coming days.

Earlier, ITI Limited had contributed Rs 64 lakh from its CSR fund and a day's salary of all its employees, amounting to Rs 45 lakh, to the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situation fund (PM CARES fund) for the same cause.
