MCL allocates Rs 2.41 crore for nutritional support to TB patients in Jharsuguda

New Delhi: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has committed Rs 2.41 crore towards providing nutritional support to tuberculosis (TB) patients in Jharsuguda district, Odisha, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts.

Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the District Administration of Jharsuguda, MCL will supply 2,440 food baskets every month to TB patients and their families for one year. The initiative is aligned with the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukta Bharat Abhiyan, which aims to eliminate TB from India.

The MoU was formally exchanged between MCL's Deputy Manager (CSR) Ainul Huda and Chief District Medical & Public Health Officer of Jharsuguda Mahesh Mohan Panda.

Reaffirming its commitment to community welfare, MCL stated that the project reflects its focus on public health and social upliftment through sustained and impactful CSR interventions, with the active support of the Jharsuguda District Administration.
