MCL extends Rs 9.97 crore CSR support for construction of Town Hall in Patnagarh, Balangir

Sambalpur: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a leading subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has sanctioned Rs 9.97 crore to the District Administration of Balangir for the construction of a Town Hall at Patnagarh NAC in Odisha. The project will be undertaken under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at strengthening civic infrastructure and fostering community development.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the project was signed in the presence of Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo by Sanjay Kumar Jha, Director (Technical), MCL, and Gaurav Shivaji Isalwar, IAS, Collector & District Magistrate, Balangir.

The upcoming Town Hall, to be constructed near the Panchayat Samiti Office in Patnagarh, will accommodate up to 300 people and serve as a modern multipurpose venue for community gatherings, cultural programmes, and official events.

This initiative is expected to play a key role in boosting local civic amenities while promoting social and cultural engagement within the region.

Reinforcing MCL’s dedication to inclusive growth and community welfare, the company continues to undertake various CSR projects in Odisha aimed at improving infrastructure, education, healthcare, and social development in its operational areas.
