New Delhi: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the District Administration of Bhadrak to install solar high-mast LED lights in nine government schools across the district. This initiative, undertaken as part of MCL's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, aims to enhance the learning environment and improve security for students.
MCL has committed a funding of Rs 60 lakh for the project, which will provide sustainable lighting solutions in seven Odisha Adarsh Vidyalayas, one Kendriya Vidyalaya, and one Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Bhadrak district. The installation of solar-powered lighting will not only ensure continuous illumination but also contribute to the promotion of renewable energy sources in educational institutions.
The MoU was signed at MCL's Bhubaneswar Office by Bichitrananda Behera, General Manager (CSR) of MCL, and Tanmay Ranjan Jena, Deputy Collector, Bhadrak.
This initiative reinforces MCL's commitment to sustainable development and its efforts to enhance infrastructure in educational institutions. By integrating renewable energy solutions, MCL continues to support the overall well-being of students while promoting environmental sustainability.
