The projects, valued at Rs 80 lakh, will be implemented under MCL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme and are aimed at improving educational facilities and promoting inclusive growth in the Barpali Block of Bargarh district.

The MoUs were signed on Thursday between MCL’s General Manager (CSR) and the Block Development Officer (BDO), Barpali, representing the District Administration.

As part of the first project, MCL will fund the construction of an auditorium hall and parking facility at Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, Barpali, at a cost of Rs 59.75 lakh. The new facilities are expected to provide an enabling environment for academic, cultural, and co-curricular activities, thereby enriching the overall learning experience. The parking facility will also ensure safe and organized movement for students and encourage participation from SC/ST/OBC communities in school and community events.

The second project, worth Rs 20.78 lakh, focuses on constructing additional classrooms at Government High School, Agalpur. This initiative aims to reduce classroom overcrowding, improve the student–teacher ratio, and enhance the overall quality of education. The expanded infrastructure will enable the school to accommodate more students and promote interactive and activity-based learning.

Through these initiatives, MCL continues to reinforce its commitment to community development and educational empowerment as part of its broader CSR vision in Odisha.
