MCL signs MoUs with CIPET, Bhubaneswar for skill development

New Delhi: Coal India Limited (CIL) subsidiary and Miniratna coal PSU, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has signed two memorandum of understanding (MoUs) with the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) on Thursday. The company has signed MoUs under its CSR initiative for providing skill development training to the youths from the peripheral villages of mining areas of WCL. According to a press release from the Ministry of Coal, MCL will provide an investment of Rs 1.38 crore for the skilling the youths.

Under these MoUs, MCL's CSR initiatives namely 'Udaan' and 'Sahyog' will help 40 youths from peripheral villages to join a two-year full-time ITI training in fitter and electrician trades and 30 divyangjan to join a six-month-long skill training programme respectively.

The MoU documents have been signed by MCL's General Manager (CSR) PK Chakraborty on behalf of MCL and CIPET's Principal Director & Head PK Sahoo on behalf of CIPET.
