The MoU has been signed between NALCO Foundation, NALCO’s CSR arm, and CTTC, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) on Wednesday at NALCO’s Corporate Office in Bhubaneswar.
The MoU has been signed in presence of NACO's Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Brijendra Pratap Singh; Director (Production) Pankaj Kumar Sharma; Director (HR) Dr. Tapas Kumar Pattnayak; Director (Finance) Abhay Kumar Behuria along with senior officials from NALCO, NALCO Foundation, and CTTC Bhubaneswar.
As part of the initiative, 40 youths from peripheral villages surrounding NALCO’s operational units, 20 each from the Mines & Refinery Complex at Damanjodi and the Smelter & Power Complex at Angul, will undergo a five-month residential training programme at CTTC Bhubaneswar. The programme aims to equip participants with practical, industry-relevant skills to enhance their employability and livelihood prospects.
Speaking on the occasion, Singh commended the initiative, stating that the training programme would “equip local youth with industry-ready skills and open doors to sustainable livelihood opportunities.” He emphasized that such CSR interventions can set new benchmarks in community development by nurturing local talent and boosting confidence among the youth.
The training will be conducted in alignment with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) of the National Skill Development Council (NSDC), Government of India. This initiative underscores NALCO’s commitment to inclusive growth, community empowerment, and sustainable livelihood creation under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework.
