New Delhi: National Fertilizers Limited (NFL), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Fertilizers, has distributed 95 cotton plucking machines to the farmers for free of cost under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. The Cotton Plucking machines were distributed on October 15, in two separate programmes in Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sadalpur, Hisar and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bhiwani. NFL's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Virendra Nath Dutt was the chief guest of both the programs.
In his speech, Dutt briefly explained the social responsibility programs being undertaken by the company for the farmers and also gave a demonstration to the farmers about the use of cotton plucking machines. The demonstration helped the farmers understand the easy use of the machines.
The program was also attended by NFL's Chief General Manager (Marketing) Anil Motsara and Zonal Manager of Chandigarh Office Dilbag Singh. With the use of these machines distributed by the NFL, the plucking of cotton will be done faster and more cleanly.
More than 500 such cotton plucking machines have been distributed in the country by NFL to farmers of states viz. Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana etc.
National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) is a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. NFL is a state-owned producer of chemical fertilizers, organic fertilizers and industrial chemicals. NFL, incorporated in 1974, is India's largest Central Public Sector Enterprise in Fertilizer Sector with a turnover of over Rs 75 billion. Falling under the administrative control of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, it is the second-largest producer of the key fertilizer Urea in India. NFL has five gas-based ammonia-urea plants, viz Nangal and Bathinda in Punjab, Panipat in Haryana and two at Vijaipur (Madhya Pradesh).
