NHPC contributes Rs 2 crore to Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund

NHPC Limited has contributed Rs 2 crore in Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Assam to combat the devastating flood in the state

New Delhi: NHPC Limited has contributed Rs 2 crore in Chief Minister's Relief Fund, Assam to combat the devastating flood in the state. NHPC's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) AK Singh met Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on July 7, 2022, at Guwahati and presented the cheque in this regard. On this occasion, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Lakhimpur Lok Sabha constituency Pradan Baruah and Member of Legislative Assembly, Lakhimpur Assembly constituency Manab Deka were also present.

On this occasion, the progress of construction of the 2,000 MW Subansiri Lower Project was also reviewed and the Chief Minister wished for its completion at the earliest.  He said the state government will extend all possible support for the commissioning of the project. Chief Minister and NHPC CMD also discussed the development of hydroelectric and solar power in Assam including pump storage hydro plants and floating solar parks.
