NHPC provides flood relief assistance of NPR 1 crore to Nepal

This contribution has been provided to assist the Government of Nepal in relief and restoration efforts after the recent floods in Nepal

New Delhi: NHPC Limited has provided financial contribution of NPR 1 crore (about Rs 62.56 lakh) as flood relief assistance to Nepal. The cheque has been presented to Rt. Prime Minister of Nepal KP Sharma Oli by NHPC Director (Finance) RP Goyal at Kathmandu on Monday. On the occasion, NHPC Executive Director (NHPC Nepal Projects) Rajneesh Agarwal and other officers of NHPC were also present.

This contribution has been provided to assist the Government of Nepal in relief and restoration efforts after the recent floods in Nepal, which reflects NHPC's strong commitment towards its social responsibilities.

Goyal informed the Nepal PM about the progress of West Seti, Seti River-6 and Phukot Karnali projects being implemented by NHPC in Nepal and informed that these three projects of NHPC will develop a total of 1844 MW capacity of hydroelectric power for which an investment of about NPR 40000 crore is to be made. These projects of NHPC will usher in a new chapter of prosperity and overall progress in Nepal.

Nepal PM appreciated NHPC for its commitment to the development of hydroelectric power in Nepal and for its assistance in the unexpected disaster in Nepal. He also assured early resolution of all issues related to the hydroelectric projects being implemented by NHPC through mutual dialogue.
