New Delhi: NMDC Limited has announced a Rs 113.53 crore allocation for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in Chhattisgarh for FY 2024-25, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable and inclusive development.
The approved budget covers 148 projects, with Rs 108.92 crore earmarked for initiatives proposed by state authorities. Of this, Rs 82.80 crore will be directly implemented by NMDC, while Rs 26.12 crore will involve collaboration with state agencies.
These projects will focus on several key areas. In education and skill development, NMDC will enhance institutions such as Aastha Gurukul and Saksham, promote literacy and vocational training, and upgrade infrastructure in remote regions. In healthcare, the company plans to strengthen infrastructure by constructing health centers, installing solar systems, and providing modern medical equipment for underserved areas. For child welfare, NMDC will develop Anganwadi centers to improve nutrition and overall well-being among children. Additionally, the company will invest in infrastructure projects like roads and community halls to enhance connectivity and living standards in rural areas.
Amitava Mukherjee, CMD (Additional Charge) of NMDC, highlighted the company's enduring commitment to CSR, stating, “Corporate Social Responsibility is ingrained in NMDC’s DNA, and we are dedicated to driving meaningful change in healthcare, education, and rural development.”
These projects align with NMDC’s vision of fostering equitable development and uplifting marginalized communities, underscoring its role as a socially responsible corporate leader.
