NTPC Kaniha dedicates community hall at Hariharpur under CSR initiative

New Delhi: In a significant step towards enhancing community infrastructure, NTPC Kaniha constructed and handed over a newly built community centre at Hariharpur village, located in the Kaniha Block of Angul District, Odisha.

The inauguration ceremony was held on September 1, with great enthusiasm and graced by the esteemed presence of Rudra Narayan Pany, Member of Parliament (Dhenkanal, Odisha), as the Chief Guest. Also present were Ashok Mohanty, Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Pallahara, and Ashok Kumar Sehgal, Head of Project, NTPC Kaniha, who played a pivotal role in this initiative.

The ceremony was also attended by other dignitaries including Navneet Kumar, Head of HR, NTPC Kaniha, Suresh Chandra Behera, Additional General Manager (AHD), Sujita Rath, Additional General Manager (HR) and Deeptimayee Pradhan, Sarpanch of Hariharpur Gram Panchayat and other officials of NTPC. The event witnessed active participation from the villagers, who expressed their gratitude and excitement for this new facility.

During his address, the Chief Guest, Rudra Narayan Pany, praised NTPC Kaniha for its consistent and impactful efforts in promoting the socio-economic development of the region. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering community well-being and enhancing the quality of life for the residents of project-affected villages.

Ashok Mohanty, MLA Pallahara, highlighted the multifaceted utility of the newly constructed community hall, noting that it will serve as a venue for various cultural activities, meetings, weddings, and other social events.

Ashok Kumar Sehgal, Head of Project, NTPC Kaniha, reiterated NTPC’s steadfast commitment to the development of the surrounding areas. He pointed out that NTPC is actively engaged in several key areas, including education, healthcare, water and sanitation, rural infrastructure development, and skill enhancement, all aimed at fostering sustainable growth in the region.

The dignitaries also appreciated solar powered drinking water system installed by NTPC Kaniha beside the community centre to meet the drinking water requirement of the village.
