NTPC to set up COVID-19 ICU & Oxygen beds in Khargone

New Delhi: In yet another move towards its fight against Coronavirus, Khargone Super Thermal Power Station of NTPC Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with district administration of Khargone for setting up ICU & Oxygen beds in the district on Tuesday. As per the MoU, a number of 15 Covid-19 ICU beds and 250 Oxygen beds will be set up for the Corona patients. NTPC has taken this move amid increasing Covid-19 cases in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The information has been shared by the NTPC on a social media post on June 18.

The MoU has been signed by NTPC Khargone's Chief Medical Officer Dr Ajay Singh, Chief Medical Officer, and Chief Medical Health Officer (CMHO) Khargone Ms Ranjana Davar in presence of Khargone's District Collector Gopal Chandra Dad, Superintendent of Police of Khargone Sunil Pandey and NTPC Khargone's  Executive Director (ED) Ashim Kumar Goswami.

According to the MoU signed with district administration of Khargone, NTPC Khargone will provide an assistance Rs 2.23 crore to the district administration of which Rs 52 lakhs will be used for the 15 bed COVID-19 ICU at the district hospital and Rs 1.71 crore for setting up 250 isolation beds with oxygen support.
