The distribution drive commenced on November 29, with Khajuria Upper Primary School and Jharabarani School covered in the first phase. The programme was completed on February 7, ensuring all identified schools were equipped with the desks, benefiting thousands of students.

The initiative aims to improve classroom infrastructure, enhance student comfort, and promote better engagement and learning outcomes. It forms part of the station’s broader focus on supporting access to quality education in its areas of operation.

In addition to the desk distribution, the station has constructed 75 toilet blocks in schools, contributing to improved sanitation and hygiene. Under its Girl Empowerment Mission, 550 girls have also been supported so far, with a focus on confidence-building, skills development, and educational motivation.

Over the years, NTPC Talcher Kaniha has implemented multiple CSR initiatives spanning education, healthcare, sanitation, and rural infrastructure, contributing to the socio-economic development of surrounding villages.
