New Delhi: Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC), a Navratna PSU and India's leading NBFC under the Ministry of Power, has signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with the District Administration of Siddharthnagar in Uttar Pradesh for the construction of two Modular Operation Theatre rooms in the district hospital. Under this MoA, PFC will provide financial assistance of close to Rs 94 lakh for the execution of the project to the district administration, Siddharthnagar, under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

PFC's Chief General Manager (CSR&SD) M Prabhakar Das and Deputy CMO of Siddharthnagar Dr Dinesh Kumar Chaudhary have signed the agreement on behalf of the respective organisations.

The pact is intended to provide the necessary support to the Siddharthnagar District Administration to develop the necessary infrastructure in order to reduce Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) and Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) in the catchment area. The infrastructural development would also help in reducing the Neonatal Mortality Rate (NMR) in the adjoining areas of the district.

Recently, PFC has also signed an agreement with the Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur (IIT-Kanpur) for training, research, and entrepreneurship development in smart grid technology. Under this, PFC will provide financial assistance of Rs 2,38,97,000 to IIT-Kanpur under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.
