PFC to fund reconstruction & infrastructure restoration work of Kedarnath town

PFC has signed an agreement with Shri Kedarnath Utthan Charitable Trust, Government of Uttarakhand for reconstruction and restoration of Kedarnath town and its surrounding areas

New Delhi: Power Finance Corporation (PFC), a Navratna PSU and India's leading NBFC under the Ministry of Power on Tuesday said that it has signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Shri Kedarnath Utthan Charitable Trust Government of Uttarakhand (SKUCT) for the reconstruction and restoration of Kedarnath town and its surrounding areas. Under this agreement, PFC will provide financial assistance of about Rs 25.97 crore to Shri Kedarnath Utthan Charitable Trust.

The agreement between the two organisation has been signed by PFC's Chief General Manager (CSR&SD) M Prabhakar Das and Additional Resident Commissioner of Uttarakhand Ila Giri (on behalf of SKUCT) on behalf of respective organisations on June 8.

What is in this MoA?

The objective of the agreement is to reconstruct and restore the infrastructure of Kedarnath town and its surrounding areas, which includes constructing new infrastructure along the Saraswati Edge along with the construction of the Civic Centre, Interpretation Centre and Museum. The project will also include the construction of Rain Shelter at Sonprayag and Security Gateway at Gaurikund.
