CSR Watch: PFC wins accolades for ‘Best CSR practices & COVID-19 relief work’

Power Finance Corporation (PFC) has been given a certificate of appreciation by the government of Haryana for its CSR and relief work undertaken during the Covid-19 pandemic

New Delhi: Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC) has been recognised by the government of Haryana for exemplary work done under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices and the relief work undertaken during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Education Minister of Haryana Kanwar Pal bestowed a 'Certificate of Appreciation' to PFC during an event held on Republic Day at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Gurugram. PFC's Director (Commercial) PK Singh received the certificate of appreciation on behalf of the company.

PFC has been significantly contributing through CSR for the development of various segments and communities in the state of Haryana which includes empowering the unemployed youth through job-oriented skill training programs. Apart from this, PFC has sanctioned projects to supply, installation and commissioning of fully equipped modular operation theatre (OT) in Rotary Ambala Cancer & General Hospital (RACGH), Ambala along with providing five kWp standalone SPV Power Plants in 3 ASHA Schools (situated at Ambala, Hissar & Panchkula) supported by Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA). Till date, PFC has sanctioned Rs. 1142 crores under its CSR initiatives across India.

PFC has made substantial efforts under CSR to mitigate and control the spread of COVID-19. PFC has contributed Rs 200 crores to the PM CARES Fund and provided financial support of approximately Rs 6.35 crore for procurement and distribution of medical facilities and equipment like health masks, sanitisers, mechanical ventilators, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), ambulances and other relief items including ration and meal packets for doctors and medical staffs at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi.

PFC has been actively spreading its CSR initiatives across the country to promote and leverage green technologies, water and sanitation facilities, education and nutrition for the children, empowerment of women and employment-oriented skill development training.
