Power Grid to provide educational assistance to violence affected students

New Delhi: Power Grid on Tuesday said that it will provide financial assistance to violence-affected students from Assam, Manipur and Chhattisgarh. For this novel cause, Maharatna Power PSU, Power Grid has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Power Grid's Director (Personnel) VK Singh signed MoU with NGCH's Secretary Manoj Pant (IFS) in presence of Power Grid's Executive Director (CSR) Sanjay Garg and other senior officers from both NFCH and Power Grid.

Under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative named 'Assist,' Power Grid will provide financial assistance to 1,260 students of the three states rendered orphan or destitute in communal, caste, ethnic, or terrorist violence for pursuing various levels of education up-to class 12th, Graduation/PG and professional courses for a period of 12 months at a total financial implication of about Rs 1.96 crore for 2020-21.
