POWERGRID contributes Rs 1 crore for district hospital of Gorakhpur

New Delhi: The state-run Maharatna power PSU, Powergrid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) is strategically supporting the society in the fight against the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in every possible way. POWERGRID has undertaken several CSR activities for providing relief to the needy persons across India.

In a move to help nation's fight against Coronavirus, POWERGRID has provided an additional assistant Rs 1 crore for District Hospital of Gorakhpur (UP). The financial support provided by Power PSU will be utilized for purchasing medical instruments for eradication and protection from Coronavirus. The payment of Rs 1 crore was handed over to Yogi Adityanath on Friday in Lucknow. On the occasion, POWERGRID's Executive Director (NR-III) and Chief General Manager (CGM) (East) apprised Yogi Adityanath, about various relief measures in the state of Uttar Pradesh for the fight against Coronavirus.

Earlier, the POWERGRID had contributed Rs 200 crore to 'PM CARES Fund.' POWERGRID has reached to 1.85 lakh beneficiaries situated in 276 locations across India with Through free ration distribution campaign. In this CSR drive, POWERGRID so far distributed as much as 1,562 metric tonnes of free ration. These figures that have been provided to PSU Watch from PowerGrid campaign team sums up the campaign reach-out data till April 28. The mission is marching on.
