REC sanctions Rs 4.22 crore under CSR to set up 100 smart classrooms in Assam

REC has sanctioned Rs 4.22 crore under its CSR programme for establishing 100 smart classrooms in Government schools across Assam's Lakhimpur and Kaziranga regions

New Delhi: REC Limited has sanctioned Rs 4.22 crore under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme for establishing 100 smart classrooms in government schools across Assam's Lakhimpur and Kaziranga regions.

The project, titled "Establishing 100 Smart Classrooms in 100 Government Schools in the Lakhimpur and Kaziranga regions of Assam," aims to strengthen education infrastructure by integrating digital learning solutions into government schools and creating a technology-enabled learning environment for students.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the project was signed on July 2 at REC Limited's corporate office in Gurugram between REC Limited's Head of Department (CSR) L. B. Nautiyal and Indo German Institute of Advanced Technology (IGIAT) Director B. Vinod Kumar.

The agreement was signed in the presence of REC Limited's Executive Director (CSR) Arun Kumar Tyagi along with senior officials from REC Limited and IGIAT.

The initiative is part of REC's continued efforts to strengthen education infrastructure through its CSR interventions and promote digital learning in government schools.

REC said it continues to make strategic investments through its CSR programmes in key areas such as education, healthcare, skill development, environmental sustainability and community development, with the objective of contributing to inclusive and sustainable socio-economic growth across the country.
