New Delhi/Visakhapatnam: RINL- Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) CMD Deb Kalyan Mohanty inaugurated a camp for the distribution of assistive devices to physically handicapped persons as part of the corporate environment responsibility (CER) initiative of RINL on August 14. Speaking on the occasion, Mohanty who was the chief guest on the occasion, expressed his happiness that providing aids & assistive devices to physically handicapped persons improve their lifestyle and enable them to earn their livelihood. He informed that RINL is at the forefront of providing funds through CSR for the improvement of society. Mohanty handed over assistive devices to some of the beneficiaries on this occasion.

RINL contributed Rs 44.03 lakhs from CER funds for the provision of aids and assistive devices to 210 beneficiaries selected in camps at Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts for uplifting the physically challenged persons. The camp was organised through Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) at VRMDA Children's Arena Visakhapatnam.

In addition to the provision of aids and assistive devices to the physically handicapped, RINL is carrying out various CSR activities in the focus areas like health, sanitation, skill development, rural development, environment care etc., in the surrounding areas of its plant, mines & tribal areas of Visakhapatnam. RINL is always committed to improving its neighbourhood as a part of its corporate social responsibility.

The Regional Manager of ALIMCO KV Rajesh lauded the efforts of RINL Management in providing aids and assistive devices to physically handicapped persons in Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts.

The other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Assistant Director of Welfare of differently-abled senior citizens and transgender GVR Saram, RINL-VSP Chief General Manager (HR) K Satyanarayana, GM & TA to CMD Dipankar Das and others.
