RSP renews MoU with Akshaya Patra Foundation for Mid-Day Meal Programme

Rourkela: Rourkela Steel Plant renewed its Memorandum of Understanding for Mid-Day Meal with Akshay Patra Foundation on November 14 to mark the occasion of Children's Day. The MoU was signed at the Institute for periphery development. Mr. Ajaya Kumar Nayak, CGM (TA & CSR) signed the MoU on behalf of RSP whereas Mr. Pancharatna Dasa, Vice President (The Akshaya Patra Foundation), Odisha Chapter signed the MoU on behalf of The Akshaya Patra Foundation.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Ajaya Kumar Nayak praised the CSR initiative and also thanked TAPF for its long-standing association with RSP for this noble cause of eradication malnutrition amongst the children in line with the Millenium Sustainable Development Goals.

RSP under its CSR initiatives in accordance with the MOU would continue to provide meals to 35,000 children of various Government schools in and around Rourkela for two years with effect from November 15. The financial contribution of RSP will be about Rs 295 lakhs per annum.

At the outset Mr. T. B. Toppo, AGM (CSR) welcomed the gathering and elaborated on the Role of RSP in promoting educational initiatives and good health amongst the school students of the peripheral areas of RSP, along with the various provisions made in the MOU.

It is noteworthy to mention here that this is the 4th MOU that was signed between RSP and TAPF. RSP starts its mid-day meal programme with Akshay Patra Foundation since the year 2014.
