SAIL’s Rourkela Steel Plant distributes assistive devices to Divyangjans, senior citizens

New Delhi: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) through its Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) organised a distribution camp for assistive devices for Divyangjans and senior citizens as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The camp was organised on March 12 in association with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) at Kalyan Mandap in Koel Nagar.

T G Kanekar, CGM (TS & CSR), graced the occasion and distributed assistive devices to beneficiaries. The event was also attended by Munmun Mittra, GM In-charge (CSR), R S Bara, DGM (SCSR), T B Toppo, DGM (CSR), along with officers and staff of SAIL and ALIMCO.

During the camp, various assistive devices including battery-operated motorised tricycles, hand-propelled tricycles, wheelchairs, hearing aids, smart or Sugamya canes and crutch axilla were distributed to Divyangjans and senior citizens.

The initiative forms part of SAIL’s broader CSR programme aimed at providing essential assistive aids to persons with disabilities across its units, thereby supporting mobility, accessibility and improved quality of life for beneficiaries.
