SAIL's RSP distributes assistive devices to more than 100 Divyangjans

SAIL's Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) in association with ALIMCO distributed assistive devices to more than 100 Divyangjans and Senior Citizens in Nuagaon Block

New Delhi: SAIL's Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) under its CSR initiative has distributed 322 prosthetics and assistive devices for Divyangjans in association with ALIMCO (Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation) on July 23. TB Toppo, AGM (CSR) of RSP, Biswasi Topno, Chairman Zilla Samiti (Nuagaon Block), Kamla Lugun, Social Security Officer (Nuagaon Block) and other officers and staff of SAIL, ALIMCO and Block Office were present on the occasion.

The dignitaries distributed Battery Operated Motorized Tricycles, Hand Propelled Tricycle, Wheel Chairs, Hearing Aids, Smart/ Sugamya Cane, Smart Phone, Crutch Axilla besides other assistive devices to the 102 Divyangjans and Senior Citizens. Notably, the program was part of the initiative launched by SAIL to provide such useful aids to the disabled persons across all its units.

Toppo welcomed the gathering and coordinated the programme. It is noteworthy that RSP has signed an MoU with ALIMCO for the distribution of aids and assistive devices to differently abled persons and senior citizens. Similar programmes are scheduled to be held at Lathikata Block, Bisra Block, Birmitrapur and Tangarpali.
