SECL hosts awareness programme on TB & HIV as part of national elimination campaign

New Delhi: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) organised a One-Day Advanced Orientation Programme on Tuberculosis (TB) and HIV Prevention and Awareness at the Management Development Institute (MDI), SECL, Bilaspur. The initiative was held under the 100-Day TB Elimination Campaign (7th December 2024 - 17th March 2025) launched by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.

SECL's Director (Personnel) Biranchi Das presided over the event and emphasized the importance of collective efforts in eradicating TB and HIV. He reiterated the need to strengthen healthcare services and recognized the contributions of participants by distributing certificates.

The programme featured prominent healthcare professionals, including Dr Gayatri Bandhi, District TB Officer, Bilaspur, who elaborated on TB management programmes, and Dr. Ritu Kashyap, who provided insights into TB treatment guidelines, protocols, and associated co-morbidities. Additionally, Shri Ashish Singh, District Programme Coordinator, highlighted the social impact of TB and HIV, stressing the importance of awareness and early intervention.

Bringing together healthcare professionals, policymakers, and key stakeholders, the workshop focused on knowledge dissemination, awareness enhancement, and best practices in TB & HIV management. This initiative underscores SECL’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and public health, aligning with the national objective of TB elimination.

The campaign aims to accelerate progress towards a TB-free India by fostering awareness, strengthening healthcare infrastructure, and ensuring timely diagnosis and treatment for affected individuals.
