SECL inaugurates model Anganwadi Centre in Bilaspur under Rs 4.72 crore CSR initiative

This centre is a part of a larger CSR project under which 200 Anganwadi Centres across Bilaspur district are being modernised with a financial outlay of Rs 4.72 crore

New Delhi: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has inaugurated a Model Anganwadi Centre at Lingiadih in Bilaspur as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme aimed at strengthening early childhood education and enhancing grassroots social infrastructure in the region.

The centre was inaugurated by SECL's Director (Human Resources) Biranchi Das and forms part of a larger CSR project under which 200 Anganwadi Centres across Bilaspur district are being modernised with a financial outlay of Rs 4.72 crore.

Addressing the gathering, Das highlighted the importance of quality early childhood education and improved learning facilities in building a strong foundation for the holistic development of children. He expressed confidence that the upgraded Anganwadi Centre would provide a more conducive and engaging learning environment for young learners.

Senior SECL officials, including General Manager (CSR) Ajay Behera, along with officers from the company's CSR Department, were present during the inauguration ceremony.

The Lingiadih Anganwadi Centre currently has 22 enrolled children. On the occasion, educational materials such as books, pencils, drawing pads, sketch books and other learning aids were distributed among the children.

The upgraded facility has been equipped with child-friendly learning spaces, improved sanitation infrastructure, educational aids and modern furniture designed to support early childhood development and create a more effective learning environment.

SECL has been undertaking several CSR initiatives across Bilaspur district in the areas of education, healthcare and social welfare. Recently, the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Old Age Home and Divyangjan Rehabilitation Centre at Sakri, Bilaspur, being developed with SECL's CSR support, was laid by Vishnu Deo Sai.
