BEL bags an order worth Rs 847 crore from CBIC

New Delhi: Navratna defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) on Tuesday said that it has signed contract with Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Ministry of Finance for implementation & management of IT infrastructure.

The value of the contract, won through open bidding, is Rs 665.84 crores plus taxes. The scope of the project is to supply, install and maintain IT & networking infra, field IT support and centralised management and monitoring. Further, the maintenance support will be provided for five years inclusive of implementation period.

"This is one of the biggest civilian projects acquired on competitive basis by BEL during the current financial year," the company said in official statement.

BEL has also received additional orders worth Rs 182 crore towards miscellaneous spares and services since last disclosure on January 17.

With the above BEL has received cumulative orders of Rs 28,494 crore in the current financial year.
