BEL joins hands with Astra Microwave to advance defence electronics

BEL has signed an MoU with Astra Microwave for the design, development and manufacturing of advanced electronic systems for defence and aerospace applications

New Delhi: Navratna defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Astra Microwave Products Limited (AMPL) to collaborate on the design, development and manufacturing of advanced electronic systems for defence and aerospace applications.

According to BEL, this partnership will focus on critical technology areas such as electronic warfare, radar systems and satellite-related technologies, with the objective of strengthening indigenous design and production capabilities in advanced defence electronics.

The MoU has been exchanged between BEL's Director (Marketing) Suresh Kumar KV and AMPL's Joint Managing Director MV Reddy in the presence of BEL Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Manoj Jain and senior officials from both organisations.

BEL, a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence, operates across a wide spectrum of defence and strategic electronics, including radars, weapon systems, communication networks and electronic warfare systems. Astra Microwave Products Limited, headquartered in Hyderabad, is engaged in electronic system design and manufacturing, with a focus on RF and microwave technologies for defence and space programmes.
