BEL signs MoU with FSID-IISc to boost indigenous aerospace and defence innovation

New Delhi: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Foundation for Science, Innovation and Development (FSID), established by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, to collaborate on innovation and technology development initiatives under BEL’s Corporate Innovation Program (CIP).

The partnership aims to foster collaboration with startups, academia and MSMEs, while strengthening indigenous technological capabilities in the aerospace and defence sectors.

According to BEL, the collaboration with FSID-IISc will help leverage leading innovation and advanced research and development capabilities to enhance the country’s strategic and operational preparedness in aerospace and defence.

The company said the MoU reflects its proactive approach towards stakeholder engagement and its continued commitment to the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
