BEL to make a foray into space domain; signs agreement with Canadian firm

New Delhi: Navaratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) on Thursday said that it has signed a teaming agreement with Reliasat Inc. Canada to collaborate in the area of space products.

The teaming agreement aims at leveraging BEL and Reliasat’s capabilities in the domain of space. This is a significant step that will enable BEL to foray into the space segment, in line with the Government of India’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make-in-India’ initiatives, and strengthen its existing portfolio.

The teaming agreement has been signed at BEL’s Corporate Office in Bengaluru by BEL's Director (Marketing) KV Suresh Kumar and Reliasat Inc. CEO Gurvinder Chohan. Senior BEL officers Rashmi Kathuria, GM (SCCS) & Unit Head, BEL-Ghaziabad, Niti Pandit, GM (SP), Puneet Jain, AGM (Marketing), AK Singh, AGM (D&E), Prakash SP, AGM (TP), Abhinav Paharia, AGM (SP), and KR Amarnath, Sales Director, Reliasat India were present.
