The company received the Gold Award for Future-Ready Infrastructure for its pioneering work on the Vande Bharat Sleeper Trainset, India’s first indigenously developed semi-high-speed sleeper train. Engineered and manufactured entirely by BEML, the trainset is capable of speeds up to 180 kmph and is tailored for long-distance overnight travel with enhanced passenger comfort, safety, and global-standard design. The initiative marks a significant milestone under the AatmaNirbhar Bharat mission, showcasing BEML’s contribution to self-reliant rail manufacturing.

In a parallel achievement, BEML was also presented with the Gold Award for Operational Excellence for the successful development of the BRS21 Electric Rope Shovel, India’s first fully indigenized all-electric rope shovel. Designed for high-efficiency excavation in large-scale mining operations, the BRS21 integrates sustainable engineering with advanced technology, offering improved energy efficiency, lower emissions, and reduced operational costs. The innovation further cements BEML’s leadership in Make-in-India equipment for the mining sector.

The awards were received on behalf of BEML Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) by Jitendra Kumar, General Manager & Head – International Business Division, during the award ceremony held in New Delhi.
