New Delhi: State-owned Defence PSU BEML Limited said in a regulatory filing on Monday that it has received a work order worth Rs 675 crores from Integral Coach Factory. Further, it "has received the letter of acceptance for the design, manufacture, and commissioning of 10 Trainsets (Sleeper) on Vande Bharat platform, from Integral Coach Factory, Chennai."
BEML, or Bharat Earth Movers Limited, is a leading public sector company in India that specialises in manufacturing and supplying heavy equipment for the mining, construction, defense, and rail transportation industries. BEML's product range includes earthmoving equipment, bulldozers, excavators, dump trucks, motor graders, wheel loaders, rail coaches, and other railway equipment.
The Defence PSU also provides after-sales services, including spare parts supply, maintenance, and repair services, to its customers. BEML has been actively involved in several key infrastructure projects in India, such as the Delhi Metro, Bangalore Metro, and Kolkata Metro, among others. The company has also been exporting its products to several countries in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
