Self-certification is a significant recognition granted by the DDP, delegating the responsibility to the manufacturer to certify the quality of products directly, reflecting a high standard of reliability and sustained quality production. The status underscores BEML’s consistent ability to manufacture defect-free defence products that meet rigorous quality standards.

Upon receiving the award, Roy commented, “We are honoured to receive this certification, which not only acknowledges BEML’s dedication to quality but also reinforces our commitment to the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. We look forward to advancing our mission with increased resolve to serve our defence forces excellently.”

Govardhana congratulated BEML on achieving the status of 'Self-Certification.' This distinguished recognition reflects BEML's high standards of professionalism, commitment, and expertise. He also advised BEML to further enhance its contribution to the defence sector and support the Government initiative of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' in defence production.

The certification granted to BEML is valid for three years and covers a broad range of 842 stores across BEML’s defence equipment, manufactured and delivered without additional third-party inspections. This milestone reflects the Government’s confidence in BEML’s capability and encourages the company to uphold and exceed its quality benchmarks. BEML’s track record in quality is exemplified by a consistently high Supplier Rating, exceeding 90 percent, and its adherence to Quality Management System (QMS) standards as per ISO 9001:2015.

With a legacy dating back to the 1980s, BEML has evolved into a key contributor to India’s defence sector, offering a comprehensive array of products, including rocket and missile launchers, Armoured Recovery & Repair Vehicles (ARRV), High Mobility All-Terrain Vehicles for radar and communication, as well as tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).
