The vehicles will be primarily manufactured at BEML’s advanced facilities in Palakkad and Mysore, with support from other divisions based on operational requirements. This latest order reaffirms BEML's critical role in bolstering India’s defence logistics capabilities with indigenous technology.

Designed for performance in extreme conditions, the HMV 6x6 features a range of advanced technologies including an independent suspension system, high-power air-cooled engine, central tyre inflation system, anti-lock braking system (ABS), and a robust backbone tube chassis. These capabilities ensure enhanced mobility, superior operational safety, and adaptability across difficult terrains and high-altitude zones.

Commenting on the development, BEML's Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Shantanu Roy said, “This order showcases BEML’s expertise and capacity in delivering advanced indigenous products that enhance India’s defence infrastructure. It also reinforces our ongoing support for the Government of India’s Make in India initiative and our mission to empower the nation’s armed forces with high-quality, indigenously developed solutions.”

The HMV 6x6 is designed to support a broad range of defence operations. In addition to serving as a key element of mobility for troops and equipment, it is expected to provide vital logistical support in remote and inaccessible regions, thereby significantly strengthening the country’s defence preparedness.

The latest order marks another milestone in BEML’s contribution towards building a self-reliant defence manufacturing ecosystem and enhancing strategic mobility for the armed forces.
