The DCNS visited HSL on July 6, where he was briefed by Rear Admiral Chandrasekharan Raghuram, VSM (Retd.), Chairman and Managing Director of HSL, on the shipyard's recent achievements, ongoing projects, infrastructure modernisation initiatives and evolving capabilities.

Congratulating the HSL team on the shipyard's transformation and recent accomplishments, Vice Admiral Sobti described HSL as a long-standing and trusted partner of the Indian Navy. He said the shipyard, alongside the Navy, would play a vital role in India's expanding maritime sector.

Emphasising the need for a deeper strategic partnership, the DCNS said the Navy envisages HSL not merely as a shipbuilding yard but as a long-term strategic partner capable of providing full lifecycle support, upgrades and mid-life modernisation of naval platforms.

He stressed that quality and timely delivery would remain critical priorities for the shipyard as it takes on an expanded role in supporting the Navy's operational requirements.
