New Delhi: Asia's largest exhibition on land, naval and homeland security systems 'DefExpo-2022,' which is to be held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat in March, has been extended by a day as the Government relaxed its health protocols owing to the reduction in COVID-19 cases. The exhibition will now be held between March 10 to March 14, 2022. The decision in this regard was taken by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today during a review meeting on its preparations.

The extended exhibition will facilitate defence business through three business days and makes it inclusive for entrepreneurs and visitors, especially the young generation of Gujarat during two public days.

An interactive and user-friendly mobile app of the DefExpo-2022 was also launched by the Defence Minister during the review meeting. The mobile app is available on the Android and iOS platforms and will cover all issues related to the mega event including information on the exhibitors, schedule, speakers, venue maps, driving directions, publications as well as notifications to visitors and exhibitors.

More than 900 exhibitors have registered so far for the 12th edition of DefExpo, which will be held as a hybrid exhibition, with stalls in both physical and virtual realms to ensure greater engagement.

MoS (Defence) Ajay Bhatt, Defence Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral R Hari Kumar, Vice Chief of the Army Staff Lt Gen Manoj Pande, Financial Advisor (Defence Services) Sanjiv Mittal and other senior civil & military officials of Ministry of Defence were present on the occasion.
