Dinesh Mahur appointed as Govt Nominee Director on BEML board

Dinesh Mahur has been appointed as Govt Nominee Director on BEML board with effect from June 5

New Delhi: State-owned defence and heavy equipment manufacturer BEML Limited has announced the appointment of Dinesh Mahur, Additional Secretary in the Department of Defence Production, as Government Nominee Director (Part-time Official Director) on its Board with immediate effect.

In a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Friday, BEML said that the President of India has appointed Mahur to the company's Board in place of Meera Mohanty, Joint Secretary (P&C), Department of Defence Production. The appointment is effective from June 5, until further orders.

According to the filing, the appointment follows an order conveyed by the Ministry of Defence through its communication dated June 5, 2026.

Mahur is a 1992-batch officer of the Indian Telecom Service and currently serves as Additional Secretary in the Department of Defence Production under the Ministry of Defence. Over his career, he has held key positions across several government organisations, including Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs between 2011 and 2016, Additional Director General in Prasar Bharati from 2016 to 2020, and Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Mines during 2024-25 before taking up his current role.

An engineering graduate from the National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, Mahur also holds a Master's degree in Social Studies from the International School of Social Studies, The Hague, Netherlands, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management in Public Policy and Management from Management Development Institute, Gurugram.
