New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Dr SVS Narayana Murthy as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI). His appointment has been cleared based on a proposal from the Department of Defence Production.
Dr Murthy, who is currently serving as General Manager in the Materials Development and Production Group at the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), will assume charge as CMD, MIDHANI, from the date he takes over the post. He will hold the position till the date of his superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
MIDHANI, a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, plays a critical role in the production of high-performance metals and alloys for strategic sectors including defence, space, and energy.
