The contract follows the Notification of Award received by GRSE on July 30, 2026. The project marks an addition to the shipyard’s commercial shipbuilding portfolio and will support ONGC’s offshore exploration and production operations.

The contract has been signed by Cdr Shantanu Bose, IN (Retd), Director (Shipbuilding), GRSE, and Ratnesh Kumar, Executive Director (Strategy), ONGC. Each vessel will have an overall length of approximately 80 metres, a beam of 20 metres and a deadweight capacity of 3,000 tonnes. The vessels will feature a clear deck area of around 650 square metres and an endurance of 45+3 days. They will be designed and built in accordance with the rules of the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS).
