The simultaneous delivery marks a significant milestone for the Kolkata-based defence PSU, highlighting its enhanced execution capabilities, strengthened production capacity, and ability to deliver multiple complex naval platforms within aligned timelines.

With this, GRSE has built a total of 118 warships, including 80 for the Indian Navy. The vessels were formally accepted on behalf of the Navy by senior naval officials, including Rear Admiral Gautam Marwah and Commodore Shishir Dixit.

INS Dunagiri, the second advanced guided-missile frigate under Project 17A, represents a major advancement in indigenous warship design. Equipped with state-of-the-art weapons and sensors, including BrahMos cruise missiles, advanced radar systems and an integrated combat management system, the 149-metre vessel is capable of multi-dimensional operations across air, surface and sub-surface domains.

INS Sanshodhak, the fourth and final Survey Vessel (Large) in its class, will significantly enhance the Navy’s hydrographic capabilities. The vessel is designed for coastal and deep-water surveys and can also support helicopter operations, humanitarian missions and low-intensity combat roles.

INS Agray, part of the Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW-SWC) programme, is designed for coastal operations with capabilities for sub-surface surveillance, search and attack missions. With around 88 percent indigenous content, the vessel is equipped with lightweight torpedoes, ASW rockets and a 30 mm naval gun.

The triple delivery underscores GRSE’s robust shipbuilding infrastructure and efficient project management, reinforcing its position as a key contributor to strengthening India’s naval capabilities under the Government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

GRSE is currently executing multiple defence and commercial shipbuilding projects, including one Project 17A frigate, four ASW-SWCs, four Next Generation Offshore Patrol Vessels, and 30 other vessels, including 13 for export markets.
