Kolkata: Implementing all the effective measures to prevent COVID-19 and taking the government's vaccination drive further, Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited (GRSE), a Miniratna Defence PSU and a leading warship building company under the Ministry of Defence, organised a COVID vaccination drive for its employees' family members at GRSE FOJ Unit by collaborating with private hospitals on June 11.

At the beginning of this month, GRSE had started a much-needed vaccination drive for its employees and their family members in Kolkata to contain the second wave of COVID-19. Under the initiative, the Defence PSU has set up a dedicated COVID Vaccination Centre at GRSE Main unit. Over 1,500 permanent and contractual employees, along with 112 family members, have been successfully vaccinated during the drive. The Departmental Heads, senior officers and staff members of GRSE ensured all the necessary COVID-19 protocols throughout the vaccination drive.

Earlier, GRSE had signed an MoU with two medical institutions in Kolkata, the Saroj Gupta Cancer Centre & Research Institute, Thakurpukur, and Bharat Sevashram Sangha Hospital, Joka, to set up two Medical Oxygen Plants. The defence PSU has also donated two ambulances to Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math.
