GRSE signs MoU with Germany’s Reintjes GmbH to enhance marine propulsion capabilities

New Delhi: Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd (GRSE) has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Reintjes GmbH of Hameln, Germany, a globally renowned name in gearbox design and manufacturing. The collaboration is aimed at strengthening GRSE’s marine propulsion capabilities by leveraging Reintjes’ expertise in high-quality marine propulsion gearboxes.

The partnership will enable GRSE to integrate Reintjes’ advanced propulsion gear trains with selected engines on vessels being built at its shipyard. This development is expected to significantly enhance propulsion efficiency in both defence warships and commercial vessels, catering to domestic as well as export markets.

According to GRSE, the MoU marks a key milestone in its efforts to adopt cutting-edge marine technology and raise the quality benchmark of its shipbuilding output. Reintjes GmbH, a pioneer in marine gearbox systems, brings decades of experience in the field, making it a valuable partner for the Indian shipbuilder.
