Kolkata: State-run Defence PSU Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited (GRSE) has been conferred with 'Best Employer Brand Awards 2019' in Kolkata. The award was given in the category of "Award of Excellence in Training" at an event held in Kolkata on Monday.

The award ceremony was organised by 'World HRD Congress' to identify the companies with growing capacities to generate employment and their capability to offer an engaging environment to work at. The award competition involved critical scrutiny of various areas such as employment generation potential, growth trajectory, previous and new strategies for skill development, employee engagement and recognition activities, previous recognitions in employment generation, etc.

At the same event, Vikram Solar Limited, India's second-largest solar energy company (by revenue) based in Kolkata, was also awarded the 'Best Employer Brand Awards for Kolkata' for the year 2019. The award comes days after GRSE received the second award at 16th National Award for "Excellence in Cost Management." The award was given in the 'medium public sector manufacturing companies' category on October 25.

This award was presented by Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Anurag Singh Thakur and received by GRSE's Director (Finance) SS Dogra along with GRSE's Deputy General Manager (Finance) Somnath Sarkar on behalf of GRSE.
