GSL makes another ahead of schedule delivery of new class OPV

New Delhi/Goa: The second in the class of 05 Coast Guard Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV), built on Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL)'s 'in-house' design was delivered to the Indian Coast Guard on Thursday. This is the second ahead of scheduled delivery of the new class OPV by the Defence PSU.

This largest and most advanced 105 meters long, new generation OPV has been handed over to Coast Guard in the distinguished presence of GSL's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Cmde BB Nagpal, DIG Devanand, TM – PD (Mat), DIG HP Singh, CGRPS (Goa), DIG Harinder Jit Singh Commanding Officer (designate) in a simple ceremony held at GSL on Thursday. GSL's Director (Finance) TN Sudhakar, Director (CPP&BD) Capt Jagmohan, Director (Operations) BK Upadhyay and other senior officials of Indian Coast Guard and GSL were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion GSL CMD said "In keeping with its tradition of before time delivery, GSL has delivered this 2nd Coast Guard OPV ahead of contractual schedule, despite the multifarious challenges posed by COVID-19 Pandemic. This milestone achievement has reinforced the trust of our esteemed customers in the shipbuilding capability and commitment of GSL."
